12th European Workshop on Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics of Solid Tumors
Nijmegen, 3-6 June 2010
During previous workshops we have witnessed the emergence of novel insights into the role of chromosomal abnormalities and gene mutations in the development of both hereditary and non-hereditary human solid tumors. Now we are moving into a new era in which comprehensive sequence-based information on vast numbers of tumors can be obtained. Such information will provide us with detailed perspectives on how individual tumors develop. Additionally, this information can be employed for the generation of novel diagnostic and prognostic markers and the design of novel therapeutic strategies.
